Still Point

From the Interference series. In physics, interference is what happens when waves meet and overlap: they reinforce and cancel, creating a pattern neither wave holds alone. Here it happens literally — finished painted canvas is cut apart and its translucent pieces are layered and glued onto raw canvas, so that something new appears where they cross. Still Point is the largest work in the series so far: a twisting column rising from deep navy through reds and pinks into a pale open ring — the calm axis everything turns around.
