Light Unfolding II

In The Resonance Series, I explore the invisible forces of nature, specifically sound and light waves. My work is inspired by a lifelong fascination with the world’s unseen mechanics such as the vibration of hummingbird wings to the electronic frequencies in my husband’s music studio. I want to imagine the world on levels our eyes can’t naturally see. To capture the sensation of sound bouncing through a room, I build complex layers using acrylics, inks, spray paint and my own stencils. I also integrate fiber optic lights, using multicolor LEDs, in some of the paintings to represent dynamic energy. Ultimately, my goal is to translate these sensory experiences into a visual form and allow viewers to actually “see” the sound that surrounds them.
