The palms are bent, blurred and interrupted by movement, so the true subject is the air rather than the tree: invisible forces made visible. The hot, dusty spring wind of Egypt, named for the fifty days it can blow. It turns the sun into a pale grey disc. Sold framed (19¾ × 19¾ in).
